Mike Campbell returns for his 4th year at CGCC as the Hitting Coach and Outfield Coach.
 
He is the former Head Coach at Queen Creek HS, where he was at the helm for 9 years. While at QC High School he was selected as Region Coach of the Year in 2012. During his time at Queen Creek he sent players to DI, DII and Junior College programs including Cody Funderburk who was drafted and signed in the 2018 MLB Draft after playing at Dallas Baptist University.
 
Campbell started his playing career at Mesa Community College after graduating from Coronado HS where he was named all-city and all-state in football and baseball. He played at MCC under the Thunderbirds current head coach Tony Cirelli. In 1997 he was named as an NJCAA All-American and also won the NJCAA Rawlings Big Stick Award. In that same year he was named Co-Player of the year in the ACCAC. Campbell finished his collegiate career at the University of New Mexico under current Pima CC head coach Rich Alday. Mike was also a two-time selection in the MLB Draft, both times by the Seattle Mariners. He finished his career playing professional baseball in independent baseball.
 
Mike works as a teacher in the Queen Creek School district. He lives in Mesa with his wife Amelia and his daughters Madisson and Stevie.
