Men's Soccer Shut Out Chandler-Gilbert in Second Conference Game

Eastern Arizona College men's soccer hosted Chandler-Gilbert at home on Tuesday, September 5th at 7 p.m. for their second conference game of the season. The Monsters controlled much of the match out shooting their opponents 19-2.
Freshman from Brazil, #7 Joao Martins Da Silva scored the first goal for the Monsters on a PK in the 37th minute. The second goal came during the 64th minute as a Freshman from Sunnyside, #20 Ivan Felix fought his way through defenders to reach the box. "The Coyotes had a huge defensive effort with 2 goal-line saves by defenders and we shot 3 off the inside of the goal post," says Coach Peters.
Samuel Martinez earned the win and a shared shutout with Guilherme Palacio. The Monster's defense has been strong in conference play allowing 0 goals in two conference competitions. Likewise, the offense has put up 7 goals in 2 competitions.
The Monsters hit the road on Saturday, September 9th to battle Mesa Community College. Go Monsters!
