MEN’S SOCCER DROPS TWO GAMES, FALLS TO 3-2

The Pumas fell to both Mesa and Chandler-Gilbert to drop to 3-2 on the season.

Friday, September 2 – MCC 6, PVCC 0

The Pumas had a rough night Friday, falling to the Thunderbirds 6-0.

The Pumas were able to hold off the Thunderbirds until the 36th minute of the game when Mesa scored to take a 1-0 lead. After giving up another goal in the 44th minute, the Pumas were down 2-0 at halftime.

In the second half of the game, the Thunderbirds extended their lead and diminished any chance the Pumas had of coming back, winning 6-0.

The Pumas only managed five shots, led by Manuel Zambrano with two, while Mesa had 28.

Tuesday, September 6 – CGCC 1, PVCC 0 (2OT)

The Pumas lost a heartbreaker Tuesday night, falling to Chandler-Gilbert 1-0 in double overtime.

After 105 minutes of scoreless soccer, the Coyotes were able to capitalize and found the back of the net for the 1-0 victory.

The Pumas open up conference play on Saturday, September 10 when they take on Scottsdale at 5:30pm at SCC.
