PUMAS SWEPT IN SEASON OPENING DOUBLEHEADER

Game 1 - CGCC 5, PVCC 2
CGCC Runs Away with Early Lead in Victory

The Pumas fell behind early and couldn't come back in a 5-2 loss to CGCC today.

Mason Dillow was on the hill for the Pumas. The righthander went two and a third innings, allowing three runs on two hits and striking out three.  Brady Welch and Logan Birch entered the game as relief, throwing two innings and one and two-thirds innings respectively.

Ryan Romero, Derek Wood, Tyler McCaughey, and Colton McIntosh each managed one hit for the Pumas.

Game 2 - CGCC 5, PVCC 3
Fewer Hits Still Spells Win For CGCC

The Pumas out-hit CGCC five to three, but it wasn't enough in a 5-3 loss today.

PV got things moving in the first inning when Tyler McCaughey singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the first inning, CGCC tied things up at one when they scored one run on a stolen base.

After PV scored one run in the top of the fifth, CGCC answered with one of their own.

CGCC pulled away for good with three runs in the third inning.

Colton McIntosh toed the rubber for the Pumas. The righty lasted two innings, allowing zero hits and one run over two innings while striking out three and walking one.  Danny Carpenter, Tanner Isaacs, and David Enriquez each contributed in relief.

McCaughey went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead the Pumas in hits.
