Vaqueros Win 6-3 Against Chandler-Gilbert To Make It Nine Of Last Ten

(Signal Peak) - Central had a competitive home-and-away with Chandler-Gilbert Community College over the weekend, and in the annual Saturday night game at their place, The Vaqueros didn't blast 'em everywhere but got the timely hitting they needed in a 6-3 win.

The Tyler and Tyson weekend. With very special guest Drew Sommers!

It was Tyson Heaton on Friday and Tyler Woessner on Saturday.

Woessner threw six complete, scattered seven hits and limited a tough Coyotes team to three earned runs while moving his seasonal record to 5-0.

But if you want lights out, it was Sommers that threw the final three innings, facing only ten batters and striking out seven of them.

A bonafide door-slammer.

Chase Valentine hit another double for the team leading ninth, walked, and scored twice, Ryan Ball homered again for his team leading eighth, and catcher Trey Newman and Dusty Garcia each drove in two runs with timely hits.

So that's how it works lately.

The Central batting average won't be atop the nations' list, but every game it's another Vaquero that contributes to a win, this one being the ninth in their last ten their last ten.

The Central pitching ERA is, however atop the ACCAC as the only team with an ERA under 3.00, currently at 2.48 and leading the ACCAC in strikouts and K/9.

Central is now 24-4 and 13-3, one game behind Arizona Western in the ACCAC, and three ahead of third place Cochise.

The two meet again twice this upcoming week, the next two times will be at the Coyotes home field, a game Wednesday afternoon at 3:00PM and Thursday evening at 6:00PM. Weather looks baseball perfect.
