Yotes Baseball Advances in Playoffs

Chandler, AZ-- It took the Coyote baseball team all three games of the Best-2-out-of-3 series to defeat Paradise Valley Community College and advance to the championship round of the Region 1 tournament, but advance they did after all.

Over the weekend the Coyotes hosted the visiting Pumas and despite a power packed bottom of the first inning in which they scored 6 runs to go up big, it was a high scoring affair and they eventually fell in Game 1, 14-10. In Game 2, Trey Peters was on the mound for the Coyotes and he went four strong innings, giving up four runs on six hits, but also had five strikeouts. The game was tied in the bottom of the 8th inning when Camden Plewe notched an RBI on a fielders choice. Ethan Hatch was a bright spot offensively for the Coyotes with his two RBI in the bottom of the 6th inning to even the score at 4. The Coyotes won Game 2, 5-4.

The deciding Game 3 came down to a huge seventh inning. The Coyotes were down one run entering the inning but exploded with 8 runs including RBI from Tate LewisCamden Plewe, Porter PittmanKeegan RodinBen Hoshizaki, and Jamison Armstrong.
