Women's Soccer Hopes to Build on Playoff Momentum

Chandler, AZ-- The 2022 version of the Coyote Women's Soccer team saw the season come down to a tightly contested 1-0 playoff loss to Phoenix College, who eventually won the National Championship. It was Scott Smith's first season as the Head Coach and it ended with everyone asking not only, "What if?" but also, "What next?" Scott Smith, now in his second season in charge said, "We want to try and build off the momentum we gained last season by making the playoffs. That was a major accomplishment for our program but now we are hungry for more."

Although the Women's Soccer team has a lot of new faces, many of them are familiar with one another through playing with and against each other in high school and on the club soccer circuit. The team understands that making the playoffs and only losing by one goal to one of, if not the best team in the country, is a really positive sign. The result has incentivized the group to work hard every day and not settle for anything less than greatness.

The Women's Soccer team was supposed to begin ACCAC play on Saturday the 19th against Glendale Community College on the road, but the game has been postponed and will be made up later in the season. The Coyotes first home match is on Tuesday the 22nd against South Mountain. Kick off will be at 7 PM.
