Volleyball Team Pummels Pima
Oct 13, 2022

Chandler, AZ-- The number 8 nationally ranked CGCC Coyote Volleyball team hosted the Pima College Aztecs on Wednesday evening in a night where the players, coaches and gym were all dressed in Pink. October is breast cancer awareness month, so our volleyball team did their best in raising awareness for a disease that affects women from all backgrounds and ages.

In their fight to raise awareness, the team did a great job in fighting off the typically pesky Aztecs all night long. The Coyotes won in three straight sets (25-11, 25-13, 25-14). Jada Blake lead the way with 16 kills on a .517 hitting percentage. She is just one of many standout players for the top ranked Coyotes so far this season.

Aspen Aldous is ranked 4th nationally in assists per set, ranked first in the ACCAC. Kylie Wong is ranked 15th nationally in digs per set, and first in the ACCAC. Alexie Stiles is ranked 31st nationally in kills per set followed by Kennedy Dastrup who is ranked 78th overall in kills per set. Lastly, the aforementioned Blake is ranked 6th overall in kills per set and ranked number one overall for the conference.

These young ladies are making it happen in the Coyote Center night after night. Be sure to check them out before the season is over. The 11-4 Coyotes next home match is Friday the 21st at 7 PM.
