Softball Season Ends in Hard Fought Playoff Loss

Phoenix, AZ-- The Coyote Softball season ended at the NJCAA Region 1 Playoff tournament after losses to South Mountain Community College and Mesa Community College in the double elimination tournament. The Coyotes snuck into the playoffs after two crucial road wins over Scottsdale CC in the final day of the season and earned the right to play the top seed, South Mountain on Thursday afternoon. The high scoring game resulted in a 13-10 loss for CGCC. 

The following day, the Coyotes faced off with Mesa Community College in a win or go home scenario, unfortunately, they came up short losing 4-3. 

Despite the playoff exit, Coach Norris and her squad have a lot to be proud of and a lot to look forward to. Sydnee Edwards and Paige Salazar, two standout pitchers for the Coyotes were recognized as All-ACCAC players for their strong performances this season. Coach Norris and her staff have signed a multitude of new players and are looking to build upon their playoff momentum and have a great year next year.
