Chandler, AZ-- Both Coyote Soccer teams claimed victory in the first home soccer matches of the season on Tuesday night. The Women's team got the action started with a 6-1 victory over the visiting Gateway Geckos. This was also the first official match of the season for the Coyote team. Two previous games were scheduled but later postponed for various reasons. It was as if the ladies of the soccer team had three games worth of goals pent up inside of them, busting at the seams to let them out. Cheyanna Crapo, Juanita Mireles, Jocelyn Handbrow, Ali Davis, Emili Greska and Alea Aguilar Alvarez all scored for the Coyotes.
The Men's team followed up with a 3-0 victory, also over Gateway College. Kyle Brereton scored two goals for the home team while Kelii Kiehua contributed one goal. This is the first win of the season for the Coyote Men's Soccer team. Brereton is quietly making an early case for All-ACCAC selection with two goals and two assists so far only three games in to the season.
Both teams play in Yuma against Arizona Western College in their next game. The next home match is September 12th as the Yotes host a talented Phoenix College team.
