Chandler, AZ-- Both the Coyote Soccer programs hosted Pima Community College on Saturday evening in ACCAC play. The Women kicked things off with a thrilling match that went the full 90 minutes without either team scoring a goal. The game ended in a 0-0 tie. To say the game was evenly matched would be an understatement. CGCC played really good defense including 6 goal keeper saves and by warding off the 9 corner kicks from the visiting Aztecs. The Coyotes were not able to get anything going offensively though as they didn't register any corner kicks themselves and only had 3 total shots on goal. Their record is now 1-6-1 with their next game taking place Tuesday afternoon at Gateway Community College.
The Men's soccer team played the second match of the doubleheader and faced off with the Pima Aztecs who are currently ranked as the number 3 team in the country. The Aztecs proved why they are ranked so high as they defeated the Coyotes 6-0. The Coyotes are still searching for their first win this year and take on Gateway Community College on Tuesday afternoon on the road.
