Chandler, Arizona-- Both CGCC Soccer teams earned their first wins of the season last night, respectively. These wins are also the first in the collegiate head coaching careers of Zack Kampf the Men's Soccer coach, and Scott Smith, the Women's Soccer coach.

After a brief rain delay, the Men's soccer game got under way and the Coyotes got down 1-0 to the visiting Gateway Geckos. But the men battled back and notched the equalizer early in the second half after Victor Martinez sent home a goal. Later, Javian Hintze put the Coyotes up for good with his goal. The Men's Soccer teams opens the season at 1-0.

The Women's soccer team rolled over Gateway in their matchup with a decisive 7-0 victory. The team got contributions from a number of players and gave new coach Scott Smith his first win as the head coach of the Coyotes.

Both teams return to the field on Tuesday as the Women travel to South Mountain College and the Men host Pima College at 7 PM.
