Men's Soccer Needs Two OT's

Men's Soccer Needs Two OT's

Chandler, Arizona-- It was once said, "What is delayed is not to be denied." And that could be true for the win the Men's soccer team pulled out Tuesday night over Paradise Valley College. The defensive battle lead to 90 full minutes of no goals scored, so the boys went to overtime and still didn't score a goal. It was in the 105th minute of the game, late in the second overtime, when Joshua Gutierrez sent the game winning goal home to the back of the net off an assist from Sam Bellows. The crunch time performance shows how tough and grittty the Men's Soccer team can be and how much determination they have. This was a big conference win as it puts their record at 2-2 on the season for a .500 winning percentage. This bodes well for their next tough upcoming matchup. The Men's soccer team hosts perennial ACCAC power Phoenix College on Saturday night at 4:30.

The second game of the night saw the Coyote Women's Soccer team give up their first goal of the season, and lose their first game of the season. Chandler Gilbert could never quite get it going offensively and lost the match 1-0. This lone blemish on the teams record puts it at 3-1 as they too prepare to host Phoenix College on Saturday night following the conclusion of the Men's game.
