Prescott, Arizona-- The 61-59 win over Yavapai College on Saturday afternoon marked the 19th win of the season for the CGCC Men's Basketball team, a new school record for wins in a season. The previous record of 18 wins was tied by Head Coach Steve Silsby last season. Tres Chapman was at the helm of the program in 2008-2009 when the Coyotes won 18 games and Coach Silsby also directed the team to 18 wins in the 2017-2018 season. The Head Coach is optimistic about shattering that record with seven games left to go on the year. Silsby, the winningiest coach in CGCC Men's Basketball history said, "A lot of things need to go right in order to have a winning season, I'm proud of the way the guys have come in every day ready to work and this record is all about them learning the value of dedication that they can take with them in their lives once basketball is over."
Athletic Director Russ Luce said about the record, "I've seen Coach Silsby be very diligent in continuining to elevate this program year after year and it is great to see them win so many games in such a tough conference. Coach Silsby does a tremendous job and we are excited to see what else can be accomplished this season."
