Lady Coyote Basketball Experiences 2 Game Skid
Jan 8, 2024

Chandler, AZ-- The CGCC Women's Basketball team has not had the start to 2024 that they would have liked, losing their last two games to conference opponents. On Wednesday they dropped a home game to Central Arizona College 61-49 and Saturday afternoon they lost to a top ranked Mesa Community College team 62-30. Despite strong defensive efforts, the high number of turnovers and lack of rhythm offensively have been catching up to the Coyotes. The team is still one game over .500 with an 8-7 record.

Steph Da Silva, a sophomore from Melbourne Australia has been incredibly consistent for the team with her 8 points and 5 rebounds per game. Alana West, a redshirt freshman from right down the street at Williams Field High School has been a bright spot for the team with her 9 points per game. Her ability to get in the lane and make plays has been a key piece of the Coyotes success.

The Coyotes have back to back road games next as they travel down to Tucson to face Pima College on Wednesday and then to Phoenix College on Saturday to take on the Mighty Bears.
