Coyotes Corral Cochise College

Coyotes Corral Cochise College

Chandler, AZ-- The Coyote baseball team took on the visiting Cochise College Apaches on Tuesday afternoon in a doubleheader and emerged victorious in both games. The first game was a 3-0 victory for Chandler Gilbert behind two RBI from Tate Lewis and a marvelous complete game shutout on the mound from Jacob Anderson. Anderson struck out six Apache batters, only gave up one walk and four hits in the amazing pitching display.

The second game of the afternoon was a high powered 11-7 win for the Coyotes with Jake Wrubleski going deep twice to finish with four RBI. Wrubleski was 3-5 on the day and had a stolen base to go along with four runs scored. Safe to say, he carried the day! The Coyote baseball team is in second place in the ACCAC with a strong record of 20-10 as we reach close to the halfway mark of the season. Head Coach Jon Watson said of the two wins on the day, "It is a good confidence boost to beat a perenially strong division 1 opponent like Cochise, and to play well in doing it. We have the makings of a strong season and I am excited to continue on."

Their next game is Thursday evening at 6 PM against the Langley Blaze. Admission is free at CGCC so come check out some incredible Coyote baseball!
