Coyote Basketball Split Versus Pima

Coyote Basketball Split Versus Pima

Chandler, Arizona-- The Coyote basketball programs split in their doubleheader against the visiting Pima College Aztecs on Saturday afternoon. The Women's Basketball team took on the #8 nationally ranked Aztecs and fell 92-65. The Coyotes got down early and were never able to reover as the size and speed of Pima College was simply a bit too overwhelming. Mya Johnson lead the Coyotes with 28 points on the night. The Women's Basketball team now sits at 4-5 and 2-3 in conference play.

In the Men's game the Coyotes were up 51-39 at the half and 74-58 midway through the second half before the Aztecs came nearly all the way back and made it a one possession game with less than a minute on the clock. The Coyotes were able to hold on with stout defense and clutch end of game free throw shooting. Hayden Quinn lead the Coyotes with 18 points. The Coyote basketball record now advances to 8-3 and 2-3 in ACCAC competition.

Both basketball teams host Eastern Arizona College Wednesday night with the women tipping off at 5:30, followed by the Men's game at 7:30. Go Yotes!
