Chandler, Arizona-- Despite being up as many as 12 points to the Park University JV Women's Basketball team, the host Coyote team looked for every chance to give away the game through multiple late game turnovers. The Coyotes were able to hold on after a late three-pointer by Aliyah Blackhat to put the home team up by 3 with under a minute to play. The Yotes were powered by the 15 points from Tianna McKinley in the eventual 60-54 win.
The Men's team, in the second game of the doubleheader, overpowered the visiting Park JV Buccaneers winning by a margin of 99-35, coming just one point shy of giving all the fans in attendance free tacos! What a bummer! The balanced scoring attack of the Coyotes allowed four different players to score in double figures including Kenny Haynes, Isaiah Somers, Thomas Mullings and Kasey Ruiz. The Coyotes were on fire from downtown knocking down 12 three-pointers as well.
The Men's basketball team will be competing in the Phoenix College tournament this weekend and the Women's basketball team has some time off before opening up ACCAC play at Glendale College on November 17th.
