Coyote Baseball & Softball Win the Day

Coyote Baseball & Softball Win the Day

Chandler, AZ-- Both the Coyote baseball and softball teams were in action on Saturday afternoon at home taking on conference foes in games with major postseason implications. The beautiful sunny day was a great day to be a Coyote as both teams came away with wins.

The baseball team cruised to victory in stunning fashion with a 17-6 victory over the visiting Mesa Community College Thunderbirds. Jake Wrubleski, Ameer McGee and Brien Kenny all homered in the win. A huge 8th inning with the Yotes scoring 7 runs in the frame saw the game come to an early end as the visiting T-Birds were unfortunately run-ruled. The Coyotes are now 29-15 on the year.

Just across the walkway from the baseball diamond was the Coyote softball team battling it out with the cross-town rival Gauchos of Glendale Community College. Despite losing the first game of the doubleheader 15-7, the Yotes woke up and run-ruled the visitors with strong offense and stout defense to win the second game 11-1. Jolee Benson had three RBI on the day going 1-3 and Priscilla Hale was exceptional on the mound going five innings but only allowing 1 run on 5 hits. The softball team record stands at .500 as they are 15-15 so far this season.
