Chandler, AZ-- Chandler Gilbert Community College is excited to announce the hiring of Leo Maes as the new Men's Golf Coach. Maes will take over for Alex Lobeck beginning with the Fall 2023 season.

Coyote Athletic Director Russell Luce said, 'We are eagerly anticipating Coach Maes' arrival on campus and cannot wait for him to get started. His resume, experience and accomplishments speak for themselves and we are confident he will be a great role model for our student athletes."

Maes, a Chandler High School alum, moves back to the East Valley after a number of years as the Head Coach at fellow ACCAC school Glendale Community College. Maes is no stranger to the conference as he competed and later was an assistant coach at Mesa Community College.

In 2017, Maes was on the Mesa staff that won the Men's Golf National Championship. In 2021 his Glendale team placed 3rd overall at the NJCAA Championships and in 2023 he coached the NJCAA Individual Champion golfer. Maes will begin his assignment with CGCC immediately.
