Baseball Team Prepares to be in Full Swing

Chandler, AZ-- The CGCC Baseball team competes in one of the most competetive junior college conferences in the country when it comes to baseball, but is also nestled in of one of the most traditionally talent rich and baseball crazy areas in the country. This combination makes for great Spring time action! The Coyote baseball team was a few plays away from reaching the NJCAA World Series last year and is hungry to prove to the conference, and the country, that they can take the conference crown and play on the games biggest stage. Head Coach Jon Watson said, "Our incredible coaching staff was dedicated to bringing in top local talent as well as developing the returning talent we have coming back. I believe the new guys mixed with the experienced guys will create an entertaining brand of baseball and I'm excited about the product we will be putting out on the field."

Watson is no stranger to the rigors that the ACCAC contains as he played for South Mountain College and has been a member of the CGCC Baseball staff for years. In year two as the head man in charge he is tasked with getting the club over the hump and into the World Series. With the roster he has put together, there is no telling the potential the club has to achieving big things. The baseball team opens up on Friday January 27 at home. First pitch is scheduled for 3 PM vs. the GCU Club team.
