Baseball Season in Full Swing

Baseball Season in Full Swing

Chandler, Arizona-- Spring time, Arizona, baseball...all words synonymous with fresh cut grass, the lining of the infield and ultimately the begining of baseball season. Although the big leaguers are uncertain on when they might begin play, the Coyotes of Chandler Gilbert College are in full swing, pun fully intended.

The baseball team, lead by first year Head Coach Jon Wason, currently has a record of 7-10, which could look way different if not for three walk-off losses they have sufferred already this year. Through 17 games the Yotes have 89 total runs including 8 home runs. In his first season, Watson is optimistic about the direction the program is heading. "Coach Luce did a great job establishing a culture here for so many years and I was grateful to be a part of it for a bit. We are not looking to change the culture but to build upon it. I like the group of young guys we have and although we play in an extrememly competetive conference, I like our chances every night!"

The Yotes play Tuesday at home vs. Glendale College in what should be a heated matchup of two ACCAC teams; first pitch is 3 PM. They also play at home on Thursday at 2 and 6 PM. Keep up to speed with our social media to find aboutall the happenings with CGCC Coyote Baseball and all of our sports!
