Chandler-Gilbert Community College
Mesa and Chandler-Gilbert split a home and home baseball series Tuesday and Wednesday with each team winning on the other's field.
Tuesday the T-Birds prevailed, 13-6, but then Wednesday they fell to the Coyotes, 14-6.
Tuesday's game
Trailing, 2-0, MCC put up six runs in the fifth and then five more in the seventh to go ahead 11-3. Cade Malone, Thomas Schreffler, Dawson Baracani and Connor Culp all had three hits for Mesa. Cal Walsh homered and drove in four while Marshall Williams also hit a home run, doubled and knocked in four.
Wednesday's game
CGCC jumped out to a fast, 5-0, lead in the first inning and had an 11-0 lead before the T-Birds scored three in the fourth. Culp picked up two more hits and a pair of RBIs, while Lucas Danielewicz added two hits of his own.
Mesa has a two-game set with Phoenix this weekend, on the road Friday and at home at noon Saturday.
