Chandler, Arizona-- The Coyotes won a game and lost a game in their doubleheader with Cochise College on Tuesday afternoon. In the first game, the Coyotes earned a 3-0 victory with Tally Wright throwing a gem on the mound going seven strong innings and only giving up four hits. He also totalled seven strikeouts. Patrick Donovan lead the way offensively going 1-3 with two RBI.
In the second game, the Coyotes ran out of gas giving up three runs each in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings. And eventually lost 14-3.
On a brighter note, Coyote leftfielder Brent Renteria won ACCAC Player of the Week for the week of March 14th through March 22nd. The sophomore from Chandler, AZ, and Chandler H.S., hit .462 (6-13) in five games with four doubles and six walks.
