Coyote Volleyball Looks to Defend Crown

Chandler, Arizona-- The Coyote Volleyball program took home the ACCAC Conference Crown in 2021, the first year under new coach Jeff Nelson. Headed into the 2022 season, the Coyote program will be looking to do what few have done in sports: repeat.

"I think we can be really good again, I'm looking forward to beginning the season and making another run at the title." said Head Coach Jeff Nelson. The 2021 season was filled with some incredible accomplishments but the team fell short in the conference playoff tournament, ending the teams hopes of making the National Tournament. This time around, the team wants to not only hoist another regular season championship banner, but they want to go after the big trophy too. CGCC Athletic Director Russell Luce said, "I know our volleyball program has a ton of potential, can use last seasons experiences to build upon and should have their sights set on another strong season. We can't wait to have games back in the Coyote Center again!"

The Volleyball team begins their title defense Friday August 26th at Glendale College. Their first home game will be Sunday August 28th at 11 AM.
