Coyote Soccer Crushes Cougars, Men's Soccer falls to Pima

Chandler, Arizona-- The Coyote Women's Soccer team advanced to 2-0 on the infant season with a resounding 9-0 win over the visiting South Mountain Cougars on Tuesday afternoon. The Coyotes put up eight goals in the first half alone. The temperatures were well over triple digits and for a second, many thought the team might score in the triple digits too. So far, the team has scored 16 goals in two games and their defense hasn't allowed any goals at all. The strong offense and stout defense bodes well for a succesful season. The Coyotes prepare to take on Mesa Community College on Saturday evening 8 PM at home.

Following the Women's game, the Men's Soccer team took on the number one ranked team in the nation, the Pima College Aztecs. The Coyotes played the Aztecs even outside of a seven minute stretch to end the first half where it seemed like the Aztecs scored three goals back to back to back. The Coyotes were never able to recover and lost 3-0. Outside of that tough stretch to end the half, it was an evenly matched game and showed the competetiveness the young team has. The 1-1 Coyotes get ready to return to the win column against Mesa Community College on Saturday afternoon at 5:30 PM.
